LinkedIn, a professional networking platform and business-oriented social networking site, was founded in December 2002 and launched in May 2003.   As of November  2009 it had more than 45 million registered users, spanning 170 industries.  Posse List members by the thousands have signed up and have found it extremely helpful in building contacts and in building business.
